    Ciao Ken,
    I do wrap the Hurl and thread together and wrap
    I haven't tried the glue.
    I checked out a few sources on line and their is a simulated dubbing for peacock, I'm going to give it a try and see if the fish buy it.
    Thanks

    Spring Creek, among Central PA's many limestone creeks, holds its temperature well and is usually consistent for summer (late June-August) angling. Morning and evening are optimal for fishing in low light and cooler water temperatures.Fish tend to feed throughout the day during cloudy skies.

    Hatches

    Summer time insect emergences are less compelling than their spring counterparts. Tricos, Slate Drakes, Cahills, Blue Quills, and large Blue-winged Olives are all mayflies that can cause feeding activity reminiscent of May and early June. Caddisflies, crane flies, and midges can stimulate trout to the surface. For the most part warm weather hatches are not as heavy as the emergences of May and early June. Terrestrials will fill the void.

    Terrestrials
    Crickets, ants, and beetles produce fish from at least early June until well into the fall, when heavy frost finally reduces their numbers and role. Hoppers, flying ants, inchworms, and even wasps and bees undoubtedly contribute to the terrestrial buffet, but they pale in importance compared to the first three in Central PA.

    Nymphing in the Summer
    Trout do the bulk of their feeding on the bottom, even in the reduced flows of summer. Unlike the spring when nymphs of prevalent mayflies like Sulphurs and March Browns carpet the substrate with medium to large prey, summer fodder is smaller.
    Crustaceans assume more importance in summer fishing as well. Isopoda (sowbugs or cressbugs) and Gammarus (shrimp or scuds) are crucial factors as trout food in the summer when other nymph populations are low.
    A listing (www.flyfishersparadise.co...)of productive nymph patterns for summertime trout fishing in Central PA would include:

    * Perla Stonefly Nymph, #12-14
    * Slate Drake Nymph, #12
    * Wet Black Ant, #12-16
    * Pheasant tail Nymph, #16-20
    * Bead Head Pheasant tail Nymph, #14-18
    * Sowbug, #14-20
    * Olive Shrimp, #14-20
    * Bead Head Green Weenie, #12-14

    Hey Ken,
    The river is pretty much toast down here!! High and muddy. The snow is melting off fast as well, I don't think it's going to be fishable this weekend (or next) but I'm going to give it a go anyway, Sunday th 16th a group of us from TU are going to start removing a down tree close to the Pimtown Bridge so I'm going to fish before or after (or both)..

    Prince nymph size #8 (they like'm big and fat)with as little weight as possible. #18 copper john and #16 pheasant tail and hares ear
    #10 fullback have all been good..
