    Christmas

With 6 inches of fresh snow here in Denver on Christmas Day, my thoughts have turned to tying flies for the 2008 season. So far I've completed 30 beadhead hares ears (my go to nymph throughout the season), 12 copper johns, 15 emerald caddis pupa, 10 yellow caddis pupa, 20 bright green caddis pupa, and 15 glassbead BWO nymphs. Today I made five beadhead WD40's on size 20 scud hooks. I'll make 5 more of these, 10 beadhead RS2's size 20, and 10 olive/brown bead midge larva imitations. This should put me in good shape with nymphs since I already have adequate inventory of beadhead pheasant tails, prince nymphs, and scuds.

Upon completion of nymphs, I will turn to dry fly tying.
