American Angler and Phil Monahan are to be congratulated for this foray into the social networking sites. Phil's Editor's Page (Nov/Dec 2007) enticement to join this community was quite intriguing. As an aging boomer, I have a lot of respect for the folks who offer the myriad of information and opportunity on the web, be it news, commerce, or information. Social networking sites like, myspace, facebook, youtube, and the like have interested me but I've been reluctant to venture on to them myself for fear being seen as some old guy trying to be hip. And frankly what was I going to offer, the whole thing looked kinda random and disjointed. This site on the other hand seems to be and I hope it turns out to be a place to offer some information and insights and learn from the fly fishing community. Needless to say, that is a social network I feel very comfortable in. So thanks Phil, happy to plant my cyberflag.
