    American Angler & Fly Tyer

It's nice to see that the hard work my dad poured forth in rescuing Fly Tyer Quarterly from being five issues behind and out of cash has survived to this day. I remember going with my dad to the old Surrette's Fly Shop in North Conway to sift and sort through a litteral mountain of unopened mail piled high along the wall next to ****'s ummm bench. These were the days of typewriters, wax and non-repro blue pens and a vice on every desk. So many memories to share if encouraged to do so...

    Tight Lines,

    Bob,

Phil Monahan, the editor of American Angler, sent your message to me. It's wonderful hearing from you!

I met your father many years ago at a show in New Jersey. That was a real pleasure. Also, Larry Largay, who was our magazine's longtime staff artist (he also worked for your dad), spoke very favorably of him.

We're celebrating our 30th anniversary, and yes, your father deserves a lot of the credit for the survival of the magazine.

    All my very best,
