    June Fishing

Friday, June 27, 2008, 07:19 PM EST [General]

June has been a interesting and productive month for me with the flyrod.

I've caught my first Letort Springs Run wild brown trout during the sulphur hatch at the beginning of the month.

I fished the Codorus Creek in downtown York City, catching a walleye on a popper.

And today Bugbee and I hit the Codorus Creek and I caught 6 wild browns, all on a scud.

Check out my photo gallery for picts from the Letort.

    Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Sunday, April 20, 2008, 04:20 PM EST [General]

My cousin Rich and I just got back from a week fishing and hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

We experienced winter and summer in just a few days, fishing the West Prong of Little River in the snow on Monday and Abrams Creek in Cades Cove in 80 degree temps Friday.

We caught about 100 wild rainbows between the two of us during the week. No browns or brookies were taken. Almost everything was taken on dry flies.

Check out my gallery for photos from the trip.

hit the Codorus again today.. off to a great start

Tuesday, March 4, 2008, 11:51 PM EST [General]

Went back to the Codorus Creek this morning. The first two hours were a bust, didn't have a bite.

Decided to head downstream to a hole that is a favorite of mine and my fishing partner John.  Connected with four wild browns in about 15 minutes from the same spot using a 14 scud.

Moved up stream, switching to a little black stonefly dry after a live one landed on my vest. Picked up two more browns on the dry and another on the scud. Seven fish for three hours of fishing, not bad at all in my book.

First day on the water for 2008

Monday, March 3, 2008, 05:18 PM EST [General]

Today it hit 60 degrees here in south central PA so I decided it would be a good day to hit my favorite local stream.  Got on the water around 11 am and caught my first wild trout of the year, a nice little brown on a 14 BH pheasant tail.  It ended up being the only fish of the day, but what a great way to start the year.

    Just getting started.....

Monday, December 10, 2007, 04:35 PM EST [General]

Thanks for visiting my site. I'm just getting started with setting this up, so bear with me. Aside from the fact that I haven't been on the water for over a month (too busy waterfowl hunting), I'm in the process of moving things from a fly fishing page on my photoblog to this site. Will be back soon with updates and more photos!
