I have a trip into the Black Canyon of the Gunnison River in southwest Colorado around the 4th of July. It's seems that I need to be filling some spots in my fly boxes that I've over looked for to long.
Now, I don't want to sound like I'm complaining abut the task ahead, I find tying a great place to revisit My streams and Ponds as I sit and lash bits of fur and tinsel to hooks. Tying for me is like a magical transporter that can put me back in Gods country in an instant.
My previous two trips into the Canyon were an awe inspiring experience. Between the ever changing scenery and the monster trout that live in the bottom of that ancient primordial canyon, there is never a boring or dull moment. It would seem that for me, when ever I go to the Wild places, my soul grows and gets refreshed.
I'm not sure who is going to read these things or If any one is going to, but I'm just going to keep putting "things" out here for now.

Wow, have fun! Look up Scott McKenzie, local fishing God. Scott has floated the Canyon many times and woks as guide with Fly Fishing Outfitters (Vail/Eagle River). He knows the Gun very well and can keep you posted on the Salmon bugs. Good luck.
