Back to reality... at least for a few days

It's been a while since I have said much. Winter time is a slower time for me most years, but it is also when I get to go on vacation. I just got back yesterday from Puerto Morelos, Mexico. What a great place to hide from winter for a week, sip on tequila, puff on some Cuban smokes and catch some bonefish.

If anyone ever is going to the Cancun/Cozumel area and wants a good bonefish guide... look up Capt. Alex Euan (www.cozumel.net/fun/flyfishing). He was a lot of fun to be out there with and knows his stuff. I caught 7 bones with with one being a big one of about 6 or 7 pounds. The only picture I got was of a small one though, when we were in the boat. In the morning we walked the mangrove flats for about three hours and all I carried with me was a bottle of water... the camera would have been a pain to carry with some of the things we had to walk through.

I also tried for sailfish, but had no luck and settled for a big baracuda on an offshore boat. All is all it was a great week and I hope I get to return someday.

Whats next? El Super Bowl es aqui! We have a large super bowl party at the river every year... this should be the biggest yet. Many of my co-workers, friends and favorite clients will be attending this year and it looks to be a great big blowout... probably just like the game. We will have 3 days of fishing, drinking home brewed beers, smoking bbq meat, goose hunting and just overall good times. Its a win-win situation no matter who wins the game.
