    Stop Breakin Down Blues

Wednesday, December 5, 2007, 11:00 AM CST [General]

Ever have one of those weeks, or months in my case, where everything seems to break down?  The list of things that has broken is too long, but I hope I just finished this terrible run of bad luck with the biggest breakdown yet.  My transmission shattered this past weekend and I was stuck in Heber Springs for a few days.  Luckily I have several friends that also guide and some of them were able to loan me a spare truck for a day or so.  So I played musical trucks for a few days and got some fishing in.

The tranny has to be replaced and will not be ready until the end of the week.  I'm back in Memphis for the time being and I have a buddy lined up to take me back over and do some fishing then.  $2500 is going to hurt, but what can you really do about it, but pay for it?

The fishing has been good.  The Brown Spawn is losing steam, but there are still plenty of spawners out there.  There are also some browns that are spawned out already.

I caught these this week on back to back days... both very nice fish, but they are tired.  They don't fight now like they will come Spring time.

The fishing pressure has lightened some, thank god.  It usually does after Thanksgiving.  The spawners have been taking a beating this month... hopefully they can get some rest and finish their important work in relative peace compared to the last several weeks.  I need some rest too... and hopefully things will "Stop Breakin Down".

    Phil,
Great picture of the Brown on 12/3, nice fish, hopefully it's a sign that your luck has changed
